Our New Normal: Coronavirus

For the past couple of months, the entire world has been transfixed by the spread of the coronavirus. Schools have closed, people are working from home and almost all everyday activities have come to a halt. We’re in unprecedented times and all of us have to adjust to our new normal.

I’m super grateful that I have a job that allows me to work from home, so I’ve been working remotely for the last three weeks. Every day I have a 9 am meeting with the rest of the Marketing team that starts my day and then I’m off to manage my work and home life.

I will say that I’ve been enjoying my time at home. I’m definitely a homebody so being at home for an extended period of time hasn’t bothered me in the slightest. I’ve been enjoying it so much that it’s inspired me to look into future opportunities that allow me to have a flexible schedule where working from home is part of my routine.

Even though I’ve been enjoying my time at home, this time is also rather stressful. The personal threat of the coronavirus doesn’t worry me that much but the uncertainty of the future has been the most difficult part. The only thing that helps to calm my nerves is carefully curating my news sources and time on social media. I’ve prioritized staying stress-free, productive, and active, even though the majority of my routine has changed.

I urge you to view this time as a way to slow down and dedicate more time to yourself. This is a perfect time to take a break, focus on self-care, start a new hobby, learn something new, or focus on something old. I’ve been using this time to relax and take advantage of the break that I’d been needing but also focusing on my blog/content, taking a free course, doing some freelance design work, and organizing my life.

Next week I’m going to share my top tips for being productive while working from home, so stay tuned for that. Let me know how you’re handling quarantine and thanks for supporting my blog!
